design|snips Launches!

design|snips was born out of my realization that most sites I add to my “Design” folder are bookmarked because of a few elements that are really well designed. Whether it’s the headline style, callout boxes or other modules, I usually am inspired by a few key parts of each site. design|snips will collect and categorize these elements and hopefully help you when it comes time to start on a new interface.

This site isn’t medium-specific either. Some of the feature elements won’t come from standards-compliant XHTML/CSS sites. If it looks good, it’ll get in regardless of whether it’s Flash or table-based (ew, I know).

Me? I’m Thame and I blog at erraticwisdom. This is a freak weekend project so it can definitely use some feedback.

  1. Nice resource, what would be cool down the road is if instead of a submit, there where user accounts where i could add my own design snips, then you could feature some of the better ones on the home page and archives, you would then have a resource and a community of like minded people just so you don’t get overwhelmed and would make the collection more diverse.
