It’s been a crazy few days for design|snips thanks to a wonderful linkup in i love typography’s list of 15 Excellent Examples of Web Typography. Their article was also dugg which trickled down to over 10,000 visitors over five days.
The recent traffic surge also pushed the subscriber count past the 1000 mark which is incredibly exciting. Keep submitting and enjoying snips and thank you for your support!
design|snips was born out of my realization that most sites I add to my “Design” folder are bookmarked because of a few elements that are really well designed. Whether it’s the headline style, callout boxes or other modules, I usually am inspired by a few key parts of each site. design|snips will collect and categorize these elements and hopefully help you when it comes time to start on a new interface.
This site isn’t medium-specific either. Some of the feature elements won’t come from standards-compliant XHTML/CSS sites. If it looks good, it’ll get in regardless of whether it’s Flash or table-based (ew, I know).

Nice resource, what would be cool down the road is if instead of a submit, there where user accounts where i could add my own design snips, then you could feature some of the better ones on the home page and archives, you would then have a resource and a community of like minded people just so you don’t get overwhelmed and would make the collection more diverse.
